Mission
The Chinese International Photography Competition is one of a series of international cultural arts contests sponsored by New Tang Dynasty Television. Its purpose is to increase the sharing of cultural arts globally among Chinese who love photography, to uphold traditional Chinese arts philosophy, to promote artistic works portraying intrinsic reality with implications of compassion, gracefulness, righteousness, as well as to revive age-old Chinese aesthetic conceptions.
Selected works
Thanks to your enthusiastic participation, 120 photographs out of 9188 entries were selected as finalists by the Organizational Committee, and a list of the selected entries has been published on the Competition’s Website at
All the finalists are required to submit a photograph with long sides ranging from 12 to 16 inches for final competition. Finalist entries shall be mailed, along with a formal registration form with a recent one-inch bust photo, to the Organizational Committee of the Chinese International Photography Competition at 229 W 28th Street Suite 1200, New York, NY 10001, USA., and postmarked by November 15, 2008.

Contents and Requirements
- Theme:
The overall theme of each entry is at the discretion of the photographer, but all the entries should seek to portray the intrinsic reality of the subject matter, and contain messages of compassion, gracefulness, and righteousness. Each work should be labeled with a theme or subject; entries without such a label lose points during the assessment process. - Categories:
This competition includes four categories. Each participant can submit a maximum of 3 entries per category, not exceeding 12 entries altogether. The entries submitted should not be works that have been received awards in any other public competition.A: Society and Humanity B: Nature and Landscapes C: Architectures and Views D: People and Portraits - Format of entries:
All the entries shall be in JPG format, and should be uploaded to the designated website. In case the file cannot be uploaded through the Internet for special reasons, a DVD with the entries in JPG format may also be sent to the Organizational Committee by post, or the files can be submitted in JPG format via email. - Eligibility:
The Chinese International Photography Competition is meant to be a celebration of photography among people sharing Chinese ancestry. If you believe you are at least in part of Chinese descendants, you are most encouraged to enter the contest.
Award Placement
- One Special Award (US$5,000 or photographic equipment of equivalent value)
- There are following awards for each category (Society and Humanity, Nature and Landscapes, Buildings and Views, People and Portraits)
- One Gold Award (US$1,500 or photographic equipment of equivalent value)
- Two Silver Award (US$800 or photographic equipment of equivalent value)
- Three Bronze Award (US$500 or photographic equipment of equivalent value)
- Ten outstanding performance awards (US$100 or photographic equipment of equivalent
value)
- All selected entries will be awarded a certificate of participation.
- All selected entries will be exhibited at a photography exhibition to be held in New York City, USA.
